Podcast Guest Booking Is Broken and the Data Proves It

The median podcast guest-pitch acceptance rate is 5%, and the average is 10.6%, per a 2026 Podchaser survey of producers and booking agencies. More than 60% of pitches sent via email or social media get no reply at all. Producers say the collapse is driven by volume: AI has made it trivial to send thousands of near-identical pitches, and 68% of producers now cite AI-generated pitch templates as their number one reason for an automatic no. The result is a channel that used to reward genuine outreach now punishing everyone, including founders and experts with a real reason to be on a specific show.

Founders, authors, and coaches doing their own PR outreach

People without an agency budget who want to target a specific named show, not just any mutual match a platform happens to surface.

Podcast producers drowning in AI-generated pitches

The other side of the transaction — producers who need a faster, more reliable way to filter genuinely relevant pitches from mass-produced ones.

PR and booking agencies

Firms that sell pitching as a service and face the same 5% median acceptance rate.

Academics and researchers pitching to reach the public

Experts turning research into interviews with little experience of the pitch game.
