Privacy Policy

This policy covers desk.gotaprob.com (“the Desk”) itself. Membership itself is managed through GotAProb's Skool community, which has its own privacy policy governing your Skool account, payment, and membership data. This document does not cover Skool.

Tracked topic pages and hosted source documents require a Desk account. Creating one only asks for your email address, used to send a one-time login link (no password, ever) and to check whether you're an approved member. We don't collect your name, payment details, or anything else at sign-in.

Once you're logged in, the site sets a session cookie so you stay logged in between visits. This cookie is strictly necessary for the login itself to work, not used for tracking or advertising.

Browsing the site also generates the same data any website generates through its hosting provider (Vercel): standard server request logs (IP address, browser type, timestamp, page requested), used only in aggregate, for keeping the site running and catching abuse.

The site also stores your light/dark theme preference in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.

The Desk uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how people reach the site. It sets cookies on your device to measure visits, and it only loads after you accept them on the cookie banner. If you decline, the Desk still works and Google Analytics doesn't load.

Google Analytics records information such as the pages you view, your approximate location, your browser and device type, and how you arrived at the site. We set it up so it doesn't receive your email address or the contents of anything you submit. The free-problem form and the sign-in link are not tracked by their contents, only by the fact that they happened.

The data is held by Google under its own privacy policy. You can opt out at any time by declining cookies, or by using Google's browser opt-out add-on.

Entering your email to unlock one free topic subscribes you to the GotAProb newsletter, sent through Beehiiv. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email, which does not affect your ability to keep reading the unlocked free topic.

Some topic pages link to or host downloadable documents (for example, federal government reports). These require the same login as tracked topic pages, and downloading one is otherwise a normal file request covered by the server-log paragraph above.

Vercel hosts the site and processes standard request logs on our behalf. Supabase stores your account (email address) and manages login sessions. Resend delivers the login-link emails. Google Analytics measures visits, only with your cookie consent. Beehiiv stores your email if you unlock the free topic, and manages sending the newsletter and its unsubscribe requests. None of these five sell or share your data beyond what's needed to provide the service. Where a topic page links out to an external source, company, or tool, that destination has its own privacy practices we don't control. Check their policy before sharing anything with them.

You can ask us to see or delete the account data we hold on you (your email address and membership status) at any time, no different from a normal support request, by emailing us below. Removing your email from the access list also ends your session the next time it's checked. For anything related to your Skool membership or billing, use Skool's own privacy tools.

If what we collect changes (analytics, for example), this page will be updated and the effective date above will move. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
